FAQ

What is an escape room?

An escape room is a fun, team-building, brain-busting, themed room where a team of people use items in the room to solve puzzles. You will have to work together in order to find the clues that are part scavenger hunt and part puzzle game that will lead you to escape. You only have 60 minutes to escape, can you do it!

Are the rooms 'scary'? Are things going to jump out at me?

No, we are not a haunted house and nothing is going to jump out and scare you. Our rooms are fun, challenging, and intense. Pressure can mount as the time ticks down, and it can get a little crazy in the rooms! Think of it as being in a movie or story that you have to finish!

Am I really locked in the room?

Yes, and no. You will be in a room with a locked door, but every door is equipped with an exit button and at any time should you feel the need to leave or step out of the room you are welcome to.

What if I'm claustrophobic?

They are normal sized rooms and can look like a normal room with hidden items and a scenario to play out. You aren’t in a maze or a closet, and you will have ample space to move around.

How long is this?

The game is 60 minutes.  But we ask that your entire group arrive at least 15 minutes early, so we can review rules before you enter the room.  We do have to keep a strict schedule, so if you arrive late you may not receive the full 60 minutes in the room. Before your game, we’ll ask you to fill out a quick waiver. THERE ARE NO REFUNDS.

How much does it cost to play?

$25 per person

How does booking work?

You can book spots in a room online via the Book tab on our website. Online bookings are made securely through PayPal and require Credit or Debit Card information at the time of purchase. The Book tab will list the dates and times a room is available, along with how many people can be in the room for one session.  Each room has a maximum number of tickets that can be purchased for each session, which is listed on the booking site.  You are able to book as few or as many slots in the room as you wish.  However, rooms will have a minimum number of people in order to complete the room.

You are able to select a room, date, time and a number of people before purchasing.

ADDITIONAL NOTE – If your group does not purchase all of the tickets for any session the extra tickets are still available to be purchased from anyone outside of your group. This means you may be paired with additional players.

Can we just show up?

We highly recommend that you book through our booking page to see our available game times.  If you want to drop in for a last minute game, please call in advance so we can have someone here to meet you.

What happens if my room doesn’t have the minimum number of players?

Each room description will tell you the minimum number of players needed for the game.  But you do not have to buy that amount of tickets to be in the room.  Multiple groups can book the same time slot to make the minimum number.  If you don’t have enough players to complete the room in your session, we will contact you to reschedule to a date and time that works for you.

Can I purchase all the tickets for my group?

Yes, you can purchase your entire groups tickets at one time.

Is there an age minimum?

We suggest that players be 16 years or older.  Players who are 16 or 17 must have a completed waiver signed by a parent/guardian.  You can find a copy of our waiver here.  If a player is under 16, we require that the player is accompanied by an adult and the entire room needs to be purchased.  Some of the clues are difficult and made to stump you so it is our requirement that players under 16 bring an appropriate amount of adults.

What if I don’t want to play with strangers?

The only way to ensure that you don’t play with strangers is to buy all slots for your date and time.  You do not need to have the maximum number of participants, but you do need to pay for the full room.  If the number of available slots is less than the maximum, then someone has already bought some of the slots.

Someone in my room is being disruptive. What can I do?

The room is being monitoring by a Game Master.  If the Game Master deems that a person is being disruptive to the game, they have the ability to pause the game and ask the disruptive person to leave.  Any one who is asked to leave the game will not receive a refund.

What time should I arrive?

We ask that your entire group arrive at least 15 minutes before your scheduled time, so we can review rules before you enter the room.  We do have to keep a strict schedule, so if you arrive late you may not receive the full 60 minutes in the room. Before your game, we’ll ask you to fill out a quick waiver. There are no refunds if you are late for your scheduled time.

What do I need to bring with me?

All you need to bring is your thinking hats and reading glasses, if you need them.

Can I get a refund?

No, there are no refunds.  But if you are not able to make your scheduled date and time, we can work with you to reschedule, as long as you contact us 24 hours before your scheduled time.

Is it ok to drink before we arrive?

You should probably wait until afterwards. You will need your brain to be clear to solve the puzzles! Visibly intoxicated guests will not be allowed to participate.

What skills do we need?

Escape games are a mental workout, but teamwork is what will determine your success. Your team needs to cooperate and work together in finding logical and creative solutions.

Can we play the same room multiple times?

If you’ve already successfully escaped a room, we ask that you try one of our other rooms.  If you did not successfully escape, you can try the room again, but we do not recommend this.  You will already know some of the clues.  Also, anyone who repeats a room will not be eligible for the Leader Board.

What happens if we don’t solve anything?

We designed our games in such a way that the riddles are coherent with the story line and there are no random puzzles. Try to correlate information you have and think outside the box. Each room will have a game master that will give you clues if you are “stuck”. After all, the most important thing is to have fun! Remember, it’s not only about trying to escape, it’s about the full escaping experience!

I escaped the room and can’t wait to tell all my friends!

We’d love for you to tell your friends that you escaped!  But don’t spoil any of the clues for them.  We ask that you don’t talk about the puzzles with anyone that hasn’t been in the room.

Can I do a corporate or special event, even if it’s not during the normal hours?

Absolutely!  We’d love to host your corporate event, birthday party, bachelor/bachelorette party, school trip or any special event!  If you want to book an event, please email us at info@operation-escape.com  or call us.  We’ll work with you to schedule your event.  Currently, we are not able to support food or presents being opened at our location.  Please reference our age rules for the events.

Is your facility handicap accessible?

Yes

Can I take my cell phone in the room with me?

Nope!  You don’t need your cell phone in the room at any time.  We have lockers available that you can lock up your cell phone and purses while you are in the room.

Are there cameras and microphones in the room?

Yes, we have cameras and microphones in every room to monitor your experience and help you along the way.  Nothing is recorded or posted externally.  These are just for the GameMaster to be able to help you during the game.

Are you on Social Media?

Absolutely!  Follow us on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Yelp and TripAdvisor.
